Amongst the random thoughts going through my head like I'm hungry, I need new shoes, oh shiny things... I started thinking today about whether humans will ever become one race. I don't mean in a Telstra ad, 'we are one but we are many' kind of way, I mean in the way that people of different races will have kids with each other to the point that all race distinctions will disappear.
And, is that a good thing? It is in dogs, right. But then dogs have been artificially manipulated into breeds whereas humans haven't. Still dogs that are mixed breed have much less health issues than pure breds. I wonder if that is true of humans too.
In some countries *cough, Japan*, mixed marriages are still a rariety but in Australia it's pretty common now. Unless you lived in a redneck country town, you wouldn't even get a second glance.
The human race is like this big diamond where we all started from one race and then broke up into different races but are now gradually narrowing to the peak of the triangle again.
What do you think? Can you see it happening? Not in our lifetime but maybe in like 50 generations or something?
